But it didn’t take long before I became the top student in my class. Want to know why? The secret is simple: you should never think in your mother tongue when learning a language. English has never really felt like a second language to me. I started speaking it when I was just five years old, and ever since, it’s been a natural part of how I think and express myself. Even in my daily life, I often talk to myself in English, and my closest friends and I always communicate in English as well.
