About Sophie
I am a history enthusiast and have completed a project on the American civil rights movement. I have a particular interest in Eastern European history but have studied a variety of time periods and themes and am comfortable researching and teaching many historical events.
I also studied chemistry and biology alongside history at A level, and achieved a platinum certificate in a biology challenge from the University of Cambridge.

I tutor for 1 hour but this can be shortened or extended upon request.
I have experience as a history mentor in school for younger years and have run history clubs to encourage student engagement in the subject. I also have 4 years' worth of teaching experience as an ice skating coach, with a range of age groups.
I am able to adapt my lessons to my students' needs, however I typically approach lessons using active teaching styles which involve and engage the student.

Sophie is an amazing and active student who always goes above and beyond with real passion for her subject as seen in her a level results which are predicted as 3A*s. She is also great with working actively with kids and ensuring they have the best time learning especially since she has volunteered previously in schools and is a babysitter. Overall, the amount of care and effort she puts into each child individually is what makes her perfect for being a tutor and I couldn't recommend her more!
