About Shiv
I’m a high school senior who recently took the digital SAT, so I understand firsthand the challenges of transitioning from the paper PSAT to the new digital format. Unlike tutors who only took the paper SAT, I know exactly which strategies are no longer effective and what skills are essential for success on the new test. Through my own SAT prep, I discovered that simply practicing isn’t enough—true improvement comes from deeply understanding the concepts behind each question. I’ve spent extensive time refining what works and what doesn’t, and I’m excited to share these insights to help students maximize their scores. My approach is structured and personalized ensuring that every student builds confidence and masters the skills needed to succeed on the digital SAT.

Each session follows a structured approach:
Timed Practice – We begin with a short, timed quiz on the chosen topic to assess strengths and areas for improvement.
Guided Review – I go through each problem with the student, analyzing their thought process and helping them refine their approach where needed.
Challenging Application – To reinforce learning, I assign a slightly more difficult problem set on the topic.
Progress Check – The following lesson starts with a review of any missed questions and student concerns before moving to the next topic.
This method ensures steady improvement, targeted skill-building, and confidence in tackling SAT questions effectively.

Details
While I try to keep rates consistent, I also spend about 1-2 hours prepping for sessions. As my free time increases and if I choose to spend more time prepping, or as my experience and skills develop I may increase rates, with prior notice. Increases will not be steep, at the most being $5 at a time. While I will try to provide most resources free of cost, some costs may be put onto the student if they request anything special such as working out a specific guide/prep book that I would have to purchase or booking a private room/classroom for my lessons.
