About Tangernika
My interest in human development has enhanced interpersonal communication skills, as well as, understand how individuals apply learned skills to their everyday life. From difficulties in reading comprehension throughout grade school, my previous teachers taught reading strategies, to develop personal resolutions. My teaching goal is to share reading strategies in social studies and language arts to students. Teaching has been my personal gateway to extend learned knowledge to individuals, recognizing their learning capabilities and perspectives. This continuation of giving and receiving information reinforces my growth in human development.

The two reasons I want to teach is to share my expertise and to continue my education through students’ learning process. As a historian, reading is essential to retain information. Students need to be aware of reading strategies in order to continue learning successfully. Students need to know how to access background knowledge, as well as, analyze and apply metacognitive skills to obtain new classroom material. I believe with my guidance from personal reading experiences, engagement in lesson planning, and fundamental knowledge in reading comprehension skills, my future students will gain insights into their learning process. Reading strategies such as scaffolding with self-questioning, visual hands-on projects, and graphic organizers are tools I plan to use frequently throughout my lessons.
