About Justin
I have been tutoring for more than eight years now in a variety of subjects. In college I studied Business and minored in both Math and English; and, because of my love for the latter, I chose to write my senior thesis on English poetry, earning a perfect score and graduation with honors.
School ruins reading. I believe modern education has spoiled the study of literature by either taking it too seriously or too lightly -- by treating a poem as a dark mystery or as a useless thing. Even if I do not have the honor of working with you, I hope you will still find that literature, with all its humor, loves and deep searchings, is a thing to be enjoyed.

My philosophy in tutoring is to teach myself out of a job. I believe, especially in the field of English literature, that if you still require my help after a year then I have not done my job well. My goal is to help students studying any level of high school English literature to develop powers of analysis and writing which they can apply long after they graduate.
In a typical hour-long session, the first 15 minutes will be used to discuss the historical context of that week's required reading. The next 20-30 minutes will involve the analysis of the actual text, and the last 10 minutes or so will be used to express this analysis.
