About Sarah

Hello :) My name is Sarah! I am a 3rd year undergraduate student, studying Business & Psychology student at the University of Waterloo. Throughout my university degree, I have had several job experiences. including:

1. Residence Don - University of Waterloo
2. Live-in Support Worker for adults with intellectual disabilities - L'Arche, Calgary AB
3. Assistant English Teacher - The Esperanza Project, Dominican Republic
4. Teaching Assistant and Tutor - George Brown College, Toronto
5. Psychology Research Assistant - University of Waterloo

I am very comfortable and confident in leadership roles, especially those involving teaching and learning! I am passionate about pursuing further education in teaching as a result of my wonderful experiences, which has influenced my decision to become an online tutor for Superprof.

I have experience working with many types of learners. in various academic learning environments. such as toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults (young and middlle-aged).

Outside of the classroom, I love to spend my time drawing, spending time with my friends, being outside, watching movies, and being goofy with my pets!

Additionally, I am someone who is very patient, calm, empathic, and I understand how it feels to be in a position where you're seeking academic support.

About the lesson

Lessons range from 30-60min; Frequency of 2-3 sessions/week

If a student would like to work on a particular skill or school-focused work during a session, I can prepare a lesson based on their needs and make a plan to support them.

Topics a traditional lesson plan will consist of:
1. Introduction and warm-up
2. Vocabulary building
3. Grammar focus
4. Reading practice
5. Speaking and listening practice
6. Writing practice
7. Review and homework

These lessons are targetted towards students developing their skills, who are learning the English language, who need support with school work, and those who require a patient and understanding learning environment.

I always welcome students of all types of diversity, including those seeking accomodations for their neurodiverse minds
