About Eva

Hi, I'm Eva! I've tutored students privately 1-1 since 2012, working with middle and high schoolers on math, college admissions consulting, and essay writing. I graduated with a BS from Cornell University in 2016 (Human Biology) and MA and MPhil from Columbia University in 2020 (Nutrition and Metabolic Biology). Having tested in the top 1% with a perfect Math score, I know what it takes to get a top score. I’m also happy to give advice on applying to college and share my experience about college life at Ivy League schools.

My curriculum focuses on combining math foundations, pattern recognition, and mastering DESMOS (the built-in calculator for the SAT). I start off with a deep-dive diagnostic to identify which SAT concepts and problem types you struggle with and then build a custom plan to focus on areas that make the most difference in terms of points. A typical lesson consists of homework review, a warm-up, teaching a new concept/problem type, then practicing problems together. If we have time, we then work on challenge problems or mixed review. I also assign targeted homework through my digital portal in between our sessions so you get enough practice and instant feedback on what we just learned. I work with students in grades 6-12 who have at least started Algebra 1.

If you’re anxious and don’t know where to start or just need help with the more challenging questions, feel free to reach out. In our first session, I can: answer any questions you have, do a short diagnostic, and teach you a high-return skill.
