About Nija
Here’s what some of my clients have to say:
“Nija creates both a safe and profound space of play. Acting for me definitely challenges my comfort zone even as I call it into my life more and more. And yet, with Nija, no matter how many nerves I have, I always walk away feeling like I belong here and equipped with practical tools and powerful insights to take with me to whatever stages (or just places in life) that I go. I have seen myself grow bolder and more myself in my performances. Most of all it’s just super fun, TGIN - thank god it’s Nija!” -Nina S.
“Nija is absolutely amazing! I’ve met with her twice now, and I already feel like I’ve learned so much. She is so great at articulating difficult concepts and figuring out what works for you to help you succeed. So excited to keep working with her!” -Cambell O.
“The last two sessions working with Nija have been nothing short of amazing. She exhibits tremendous patience and takes the time to engage in detailed discussions, ensuring that every aspect of the technique is correct. Her keen observation skills enable her to make precise adjustments that greatly enhance the overall experience. Moreover, her wealth of knowledge is truly awe-inspiring, and I find myself constantly learning and growing just by listening to her. after just two sessions, I can already feel a significant improvement. I wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone seeking remarkable guidance and progress.” -Kelvin L.
“Nija is truly a light and I’m thankful for her energy, commitment and guidance in helping me find and play in my own light. Her wisdom, experience, instinct and ability to attune have truly challenged and changed me in all the best of ways.” -Tamika W.
“Amazing! Such a kind and patient instructor. Honest and supportive from the very beginning. I’m really happy to have her as my coach.” -Allela G.
“You can’t go wrong with Nija. She is a wealth of information in theatre, film and television. Best of all she is extremely positive and supportive. You need her on your team.” -Scott C.
“Nija is just wonderful! I’m impressed with her work, not just as an actress/artist but as a teacher! I can’t wait for our next class. Highly recommend!!” -Victoria E.
“Great coach… made me feel comfortable but also told me exactly what I needed to do to grow as an actor. I will be back for more sessions. So grateful.” -Richard M.
“What an awesome time I always have at Play in your Light Studio! I’ve always wished I had some kind of formal acting training. I definitely let that get into my head at times. Studying with Nija has been a godsend. She’s helped me in developing my own technique. Using the tools she herself uses as an actress. She’s patient and inspiring. This is a tough, competitive business and she helps me to forget about all of that and focus on being in the moment. And not in my head. And for that I am sincerely grateful.” -Samantha C.

Acting is fun. And it looks easy. But it is a discipline that requires skill. I help actors express their talent through tools I have learned from my studies at Juilliard, LaGuardia HS of Performing Arts (the “Fame” school), top teachers from around the world, and well as my experience working as an actress in film, tv and theatre for the last 15 years.
I love what I do, and it is my joy to help actors fall in love with the process. During private lessons my clients learn how to work through nerves, make character driven choices, be in the moment, play, trust one’s instincts and so much more. Every session you will leave with a new tool to apply to your work. I customize each session to suit your learning style. I help clients with auditions (for film, tv, theatre and grad school), character work, script interpretation, animal work, improv and career consultation.
All levels of experience are welcome. All I ask is that you be ready to play full out and have fun!

Nija is amazing! She has helped me with nerves before performances. I always come to her to help me dig into my characters. She makes the process fun and I’ve grown tremendously with her honest, nurturing feedback. She literally teaches me the skills she learned at Juilliard and abroad. She also helped me land my agent. I don’t know where I’d be without her. She’s my secret weapon!
