About Sophie
I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Applied Languages from the University of Limerick, where I studied Irish, Spanish, German, and Linguistics, and am currently studying a masters in translation.
I’m passionate about languages and love helping others learn, gain confidence, and strengthen their connection with the language they’re studying.
I’ve been learning German for five years, starting at university level, and quickly reached a B2 level on the CEFR scale.
My priority is that students feel satisfied with their progress and see real improvement in their German. I aim to help learners build confidence and develop a genuine interest and enjoyment in the language.

I offer German lessons for students from First to Sixth Year, tailored to all levels and specifically designed to support Junior and Leaving Cert preparation.
I spent a year living and studying in Marburg, Germany, and graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Languages, consistently achieving high grades in German.
Lessons are one hour long and take place in a relaxed, student-focused environment. We can focus on oral skills, writing, grammar, or a combination of all — whatever suits your goals and needs best.

Sophie is a wonderful teacher, my son has learned so much since starting with her, all classes are followed immediately with brilliant notes so he can run over everything before exams again, I’d highly recommend sophie , shes understand and kind and genuinely cares about her students learning
Sophie is kind and friendly. she always takes the time to explain everything in a way you understand. She condenses hard topics and gives the most important notes which are a lifesaver. Whenever I have questions that I need help with I can always contact her for help.
I've studied with Sophie at the University of Limerick and I have to say she is one of the most hard-working people I know. She has a very rich understanding of her subject areas and on top of that she is also a very patient and dedicated individual. Because of this, I believe that Sophie would be a fantastic tutor to have!
Really accommodating with times of the tutoring session. Sophie will always spend as much time on a topic if your struggling to understand and really helps ease the pressure when close to exam times
