About Matthew
I am a Senior College Student majoring in liberal arts with a minor in speech who plans on becoming an elementary and eventually college professor.I also enjoy teaching others how to empower not only themselves but others through the voice. Regardless if its presenting a project or expressing yourself I truly enjoy the art of speech. I have been "Teaching" for 2 years now mainly through after school clubs. I myself in my younger years had a lot of anxiety which held me back a majority of my life. The harsh truth is that in the real world the power of speech and being able to talk to a group of people you don't know is essential for success. So after teaching myself and learning from others before me I found a passion for speech and teaching others how much of a useful skill it is. Especially during these COVID times learning these skills and more will benefit you in the long run.

The way I teach is through a down to earth approach. There will be times when I mention other speakers. However, the main point will be how to bring out your confidence and be able to verbally voice out your opinions to any audience. The main goal will be to encourage empowerment, reassurance and confidence to those in the class and those who you will speak to in the near future. First we will establish everyone's Goals and what they wish to gain from this class and move forward from there. Overtime teaching every skill one needs to succeed in Speaking. So as you can see there’s not really a template I have I adjust based off the people I am with. Hopefully either if you are alone or we are a big class we build a sense of friendship and help each other grow as individuals.
