About Katie

I’m Katie, a qualified English teacher from London with a passion for language, creativity, and helping others succeed. My journey into teaching stems from a deep love for the English language and the joy I find in guiding students towards achieving their goals. Teaching allows me to combine my organisational skills with my creativity, crafting lessons that are not only effective but also engaging and tailored to each student’s needs. When I’m not teaching, I’m a painter and a creative individual who finds inspiration in art, history, and literature. These passions influence my teaching style, as I believe learning should be as dynamic and enriching as creating a piece of art. I love helping students discover the connections between language and culture, making lessons both practical and meaningful. What excites me most about teaching is the process of structuring and building a pathway for students to grow. I thrive on the challenge of breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and creating a supportive environment where students can build their skills and confidence. Each lesson is like a collaborative project, where my role is to guide, inspire, and equip students with the tools they need to express themselves fluently and effectively.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be creative, engaging, and highly tailored to your interests and goals. Combining my passions for art, history, and literature with a structured approach to language learning, I aim to create an environment where you feel inspired and confident to improve your English skills. Each lesson is infused with elements of grammar, fluency, and the essential language skills—both receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing). We’ll focus on building a strong foundation while exploring topics that resonate with you, ensuring the learning process feels both meaningful and enjoyable.

Katie is a diligent, organized, professional and creative English Language teacher. I was her tutor on her CELTA course, and she achieved the highest grade. She worked very well with both her peers and students. She was especially responsive to student needs and had a good awareness of when, and how, to adapt according to those needs. She also demonstrated her ability to consistently evaluate her skills, methods, and materials and was always keen to keep developing.

I observed Katie's lessons for 10 weeks as we trained for our CELTA together and it was evident from the start that she was a superb and considerate teacher. She is very detail-oriented, builds an inclusive learning environment, and explains things clearly. You would be lucky to learn English with her!
