My Teaching Approach

I am Priyadarshine, an Advocate with a strong command of the English language and a passion for helping students and adults unlock their full communication and academic potential. My legal background gives me a unique edge — I bring precision, logical reasoning and structured thinking into every class I teach.

Who My Classes Are For
My sessions are designed for a wide range of learners:

School students (Grades 6–12) preparing for board exams or building English foundations
College students looking to sharpen written and spoken English for competitive exams or placements
Working professionals and adults who want to improve communication, read faster, or prepare for exams like IELTS, UPSC, or law entrance tests
Anyone who wants to go from reading slowly and passively to reading with speed, retention, and comprehension
What I Teach
English Language — grammar, writing, reading, and spoken communication
Exam Preparation — structured strategies for competitive and academic exams
Speed Reading — techniques to dramatically increase reading pace without losing comprehension
My Teaching Techniques and Methods
My approach is rooted in the way lawyers think — methodical, evidence-based, and outcome-driven. I adapt techniques based on the student's level and goal:

For English
The Socratic Method — I ask probing questions rather than simply lecturing, pushing students to think critically about language
Error Analysis — I identify recurring mistakes and build targeted exercises around them
Real-world texts — newspaper articles, legal documents (simplified), and literature are used to make learning contextual and engaging
For Exam Preparation
PYQ Deconstruction (Previous Year Questions) — breaking down past papers to identify patterns and high-yield topics
Timed mock practice with immediate review and feedback
Mind Mapping — visual organization of topics to strengthen memory and recall
The Pomodoro Technique — structured study intervals to build focus and reduce burnout
For Speed Reading
Chunking — training the eye to read groups of words rather than individual words
Subvocalization reduction — eliminating the habit of mentally "saying" each word to increase pace
Skimming and Scanning drills — practiced regularly to build both speed and comprehension
Comprehension checks after every reading exercise to ensure retention is not sacrificed for speed
Structure of a Typical Class
Every session follows a clear, productive structure:

Phase Duration Activity
Warm-Up 5–10 min Quick revision of previous session or a short reading/writing prompt
Concept Introduction 15–20 min New topic explained with examples and real-world context
Guided Practice 15–20 min Student works through exercises with my active support and feedback
Independent Practice 10–15 min Student attempts problems independently to build confidence
Wrap-Up & Homework 5 min Summary of key takeaways and assignment for next session
Sessions run for approximately 60 minutes and are paced according to the individual student's progress.

What Makes Me Different
A lawyer's precision — I teach English and reading the way an advocate thinks: clearly, logically, and with attention to every word
Prior teaching experience - I have been tutoring students for the past 5 years
No one-size-fits-all — every student gets a personalized plan based on their goals and weak areas
Practical focus — everything taught has a direct application, whether in an exam hall, a workplace, or daily reading
Affordable access — high-quality, professional instruction at ₹400/hour makes quality learning accessible to all
Exam-smart strategies — not just content, but the techniques to perform under pressure
