About Dillon
In the past, tutee's and peer's have suggested that I should divulge my knowledge about revision and learning to help other students. I believe I offer something other than what an experienced tutor may offer and that is the real-time experience I have had is that I am still a student who has only recently endured the long years of graft that is innate to the journey of secondary education. I also feel as though I have a responsibility to assist a student in reaching their academic potential in a similar manner to how I experienced going through the years.

My classes are directed towards an audience of students aged 11-16 studying for inter-year assessments and GCSE's and will be 1 hour in length. The session will begin with a review of knowledge about the topic followed by common misconception's and a description of the profound concept's, 15-20 minutes before the end of the session we will begin a question phase (with worked example's), and to conclude a review lasting a few minutes to consolidate the key points. My methods of teaching involve tried and tested theories of learning, note-making, and revision paired with resources' I have produced and sourced from reputable sites and institutions. My experience in teaching is extended to group revision sessions on tests and instructional techniques developed whilst completing a leadership course. The first session will be a form of orientation so that students can determine whether this experience will be positively reinforcing.
