About Gordon

I am an A Level student that has just finished my exams in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics and achieved an A* A* A A respectively. I have won two UKMT Senior Maths Challenges both achieving a bronze award, and also had experience with the MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test) and interviews with University of Oxford for a degree in Mathematics/Mathematics & Statistics. I really enjoy problem-solving and helping fellow students understand concepts that they find uncomfortable and achieve as high as possible in their Maths and Further Maths exams.

About the lesson

My focus is to help students build confidence in areas they find challenging. Students could ask me to walk through an exam question they found challenging, and I encourage them to ask questions about the specific problem. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning out loud as they work through exam questions - an important skill that also benefits university interviews. My priority is to help the student develop adaptable problem-solving skills, so they can solve unfamiliar A Level questions with confidence. I also offer support to prepare for STEP, MAT, and TMUA.
