Manhattan School of Music–Trained Professional Offering Lessons in Drums, Percussion, Piano, Music Theory, and Audition Prep.

Gabriel is the most versatile and most highly skilled percussionist I’ve ever played with, and, in my 45+ years of being a professional musician, that’s a lot of percussionists! Gabriel is hard-working, dedicated, and a great person to collaborate with as a colleague. He is well-versed in many styles of percussion and is very articulate when it comes to discussing any of them. He goes well beyond merely discussing various styles, he can actually play them, and is very adept at learning new styles that he hasn’t yet had the chance to learn. In addition, and very importantly, he is an extremely reliable and responsible person who is dedicated to his students; anyone who has the opportunity to work with him is very lucky indeed.

Gabriel is an amazing percussionist! Not only is he classically trained and is well agreed he has played many different percussion styles.
I am a professional Flamenco Guitarist and have been graced with working with Gabriel. Not only is he an amazing percussionist. He’s a wonderful human being.

I am an adult novice piano student with Gabe since August. Gabe has done an excellent job of teaching me the basics of music reading & understanding, and given me tools to practice & improve my skills. He challenges me with every lesson, & I see myself growing with his approach & guidance. I love working with Gabe. He is very knowledgeable & inspirational.

Gabriel creates a welcoming environment for any student, beginner or advanced. Not only do they have a deep knowledge of percussion, they also know how to teach in a way that inspires and is highly effective! They always find a way to relate the lesson material to other aspects of the student's life in a way that integrates percussion into the student's world perspective. I always look forward to my percussion lessons!!

I highly recommend Gabriel as a percussion teacher because he has made a real impact on me as a musician. He is patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable, and he always helps me improve in a way that feels personal and supportive. Because of his guidance, I have grown in both my percussion skills and my confidence, and I am very grateful for everything he has taught me.

Professional, engaging, and supportive. Patient when teaching new skills, level-appropriate feedback, punctual to lessons, highly recommended.

I am a percussion student of Gabriel's. We work on a myriad of instruments, though I especially love marimba, xylophone, and vibraphone. Weekly lessons are fun, engaging, and consistent. Gabriel is a wonderful teacher and clear communicator.

Gabriel is also well-versed in audition prep, from the realistic minute-by-minute descriptions of what I should expect, to mock performances that help me feel fully ready for the audition.

With Gabriel as my teacher, I have not only engaged with many different percussion instruments, I have also learned new skills that I can bring outside of the practice room.

Gabe is an incredible teacher and performer with a wealth of knowledge across all sorts of musical styles. Would highly recommend to any prospective student!

Working with Gabe is such an enjoyable experience! I always come out of lessons feeling excited to practice and also knowing *what* to practice. I get easily overwhelmed when there's a lot on my plate, but Gabe presents new challenges in a really systematic way that has been super helpful to me as someone who is prone to overthinking things.

Gabe is such a lovely person to interact with in any setting, but I think there's something uniquely awesome about his teaching. I think he's an amazing communicator in a way that shows how deeply he cares about both music and people. His enthusiasm and confidence make lessons feel deliberate and also really fun :)

Gabriel is an excellent teacher and mentor who is invested in the personal musical growth of all his students. Our son has learned so much in a short period or time and his interest in all types of percussion instruments has grown immensely. Gabriel has helped not only with reading music, keeping time and rhythm, but also with the fundamentals of how to practice effectively and prepare for a performance or audition. Our son looks forward to each lesson and values Gabriel's expertise and attention to detail. Communication is great and I know I can reach out with questions or updates at anytime. Highly recommend GC percussion for the growth of your musician!

I like working with Gabe because he's an amazing percussionist and percussion educator -- and also because he makes me feel really comfortable in lessons. It's easy for me to get intimidated by people who are very good at what they do, but I never feel scared or uncomfortable in Gabe's lessons because I know he'll listen and take me seriously if I ever bring something up.

Gabriel is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. He knows a wide variety of musical styles and techniques and is great with kids. He's a really good teacher and I highly recommend him!
