About Deshini
I am a hardworking and helpful tutor who is of the opinion that any student can become successful with proper guidance and support. I like teaching because I see learners increasingly gain confidence and competence, particularly in the area of writing and communication. I am happy when I can transform ideas of students into well-structured, creative, and clear work and am determined to make the process of learning as positive and rewarding as possible.
Having a well-developed academic background and having studied research, written and critically analyzed at the university level, I know what is required of teachers and how students can meet the high standard. I have assisted students with various abilities and objectives and that has made me gain patience, flexibility, and effective teaching practices. I do not just aim at making grades better, but also at enhancing students with skills of their independent learning, which will be utilized far beyond our lessons are concluded.
I am professional, organized, and respectful towards the individual learning style of every student. My lectures are prepared, well-organized, and planned to enable a very comfortable atmosphere where the students feel free to ask questions and make their progress at their own pace. It is my intention that students experience the feeling of being able, motivated, and confident about their abilities since the success of learning starts with the belief that the student can actually accomplish it.

My tutoring philosophy is student-centered, motivating, and very practical. In my opinion, each learner possesses his/her ideas and capabilities thus each lesson can be designed according to individual aspirations, strengths, and weaknesses. Instead of just doing theory, I employ guided practice, real-life examples, and structured activities to actively build the skills of the students. I also provide a safe space in which students do not fear posing questions, making mistakes, and gaining confidence.
Techniques & Teaching Methodology.
I blend description, example, and practice. The lessons are often characterized by brainstorming exercises, achievement of skills step-by-step, the use of models, and positive feedback. Another thing that I teach students is to evaluate and revise their own work, therefore, developing independence, but not only temporarily. My approach is based on crispness, innovation, and critical thinking.
Typical Lesson Length
The duration of a regular lesson is 60 minutes that can be spent on acquiring new ideas, practice, and feedback. The longer sessions may be scheduled in case students require more detailed assistance.
Qualifications & Experience
My academic background in research, writing, and critical analysis on an academic level is solid, as well as the experience of guiding students in academic and professional writing assignments. I have a background that allows me to facilitate the acquisition of structured, clear, and effective skills in communication among learners.
Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons will be appropriate for the students of secondary school, university, and adult learners who need to train writing, communication, and thinking skills. This involves creative writing, academic writing, and language growth in general.
I would not merely intend to make the students achieve higher marks, but I would also want them to be confident, self-reliant learners and to be able to communicate effectively and creatively.
