About Christopher
I’m a Scottish flautist originally from Glasgow, gaining a First Class Honours degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Principals Prize for All Round Excellence. After this I moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music where I graduated with Distinction and now study an Artist Diploma in Performance.
I started learning the flute at the age of seven in my local authority, and from then I knew that this is what I wanted to do in my future. I’m an ambassador for fair access in the arts, creating performance and opportunities for people from all backgrounds to gain access to music and the arts, something which directly impacted on me.
I’m a freelance musician performing across the United Kingdom, both in orchestras and ensembles. I’m currently a musician on the prestigious Live Music Now scheme with my partner, the Clark-Michie flute and harp duo. I’m a caring, efficient and dedicated musician who enjoys a varied portfolio career from performing to teaching.

I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who enjoys seeing my students grow and flourish in their musicianship and technique. My teaching ethos is always to cater to each individual and create a bespoke pathway of learning so it can fit round school, professional work And other commitments.
I enjoy and feel strongly about my teaching as it allows me to inspire the next generation of musicians and pass down my learning from both my time in undergraduate studies in Scotland and my Masters in London. My love, passion and motivation in music is something which I bring to each lesson and I hope to inspire you in your learning.
