About Monifa
I have been working in education for the past 9 years and have fallen deeper in love with every passing year. Learning is fun and should always be fun; my goal is to make every student I encounter feel good and comfortable about approaching new and challenging topics and concepts. Incorporating games and mini projects that help in a hands-on approach, students fully understand and engage. LET'S HAVE SOME FUN WITH NUMBERS!!!

I teach with a UDL approach making sure students are appropriately accommodated based on their learning styles and level of cognitive abilities.
A typical lesson plan starts with a warm-up activity, something to get the mind flowing and thinking. Then a discussion on the warm-up activity that leads into the lesson. After introducing the mathematical strategies and teacher modeling, allow for questions and clarity before moving on to guided practice. After guided practice, allow for more inquiries. Then move into independent practice, while still providing guided practice to anyone who still has questions.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion for learning being just as strong as my passion for teaching. The best teachers are lifelong learners, and I will always have more to learn.
The lessons are for elementary and middle school students who are struggling with math.
