My lessons are in-depth composition and literature sessions. I am able to provide valuable feedback on college level essays, papers, white papers and other compositions. I have a deep knowledge of poetics, literary theory, and modernist literature. My focus during my undergraduate and post-graduate work was Modernist American literature and creative writing.
In addition to my academic career, I have had a seven year career as manager in a paralegal writing environment where I have had the responsibility of consistently reviewing, editing and providing feedback on professional written material. Some of this written material became published as California regulatory text and was subject to the highest levels of legal and compositional critical review.
Lesson Plan Overview:
-Student provides their high school, college level or professional development needs summary
-I provide feedback on written material and/or directional study notes regarding literature review
-Primarily provide feedback via online written review
Teaching Method:
-I am a compassionate and focused teacher and provide detailed notes in my feedback, not mere editing
-I have the heart of a coach and believe everyone can write well given coaching and time
-Patience is critical in this process and I believe in leading people well in the tutoring process; it is about process not just information
