About Ross
As a composer, I write music for concert, film, commercials and produce under the name Ross K. I have had my music performed in London (Royal College of Music, National Portrait Gallery, Britten Theatre), Scotland (St. Magnus Cathedral), Montreal (Pollack Hall, Redpath Hall) among others. I’ve had features on Nowness, Mercedes Benz, Document Journal, and short films screened in Edinburgh (Short Film Festival) and Rome (Museum of Contemporary Art). A recent highlight was reaching #1 on Hype Machine for the track 'Slow Game'. I am currently a member of BFI Network x BAFTA Crew 2021.
As an engineer, I have recorded in studios, halls, churches and on-location in Montreal, London, Berlin and Toronto and worked as a producer and mixing engineer with artists including Andrea Balency (Mt. Kimbie), Urchin, Noé Solange among others. I’ve studied with Richard King (Yo Yo Ma) and George Massenburg (James Taylor, Earth Wind and Fire) while pursuing my Masters in Sound Recording (Tonmeister) from McGill University.

Hey! I'm a classically trained Composer and Tonmeister Audio Engineer with a passion for composing, producing & mixing. I love helping creative artists bring their compositions, music production & mixing to the next level, whether you are beginner or advanced - I incorporate my knowledge as both an experienced musician and sound engineer.

Ross has taught me so many things! Ross’ mastery of multiple musical disciplines makes him an ideal teacher for anyone looking to create and record their own music. From production to composition to guitar to theory, Ross knows it all. He connects concepts together with ease and clarity.
I went from knowing next to nothing about production to creating my own songs in GarageBand in a span of a few weeks. I have also learned a lot of theory! Ross gave me practical exercises that allowed me to immediately apply my knowledge in the context of composition. My guitar skills have grown, too — Ross met me where I was at in terms of skills and now has me playing new styles that further solidify my knowledge of theory.
Things I’ve learned have also carried over into my work as a voice actor — I now feel confident using a DAW to record and edit auditions.
I have grown so much as a musician since I’ve been working with Ross. I’m excited to see where this takes me!
