About Mahtab
Mahtab Saadatmand began her musical journey at age 8 with the violin, later discovering her true passion for the cello. This path led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music in Iran and pursue a Master of Music in Cello Performance at the University of Victoria in Canada. She has performed with numerous orchestras, chamber groups, and recording projects, and also has experience teaching music theory and composing for short films and documentaries. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Mahtab enjoys working with students from all backgrounds and levels. She currently teaches private cello students and coaches string chamber groups in Canada, helping each musician grow with confidence, technique, and musicality.

Perfect! Mahtab is one of my favorite cello teachers!! She’s so kind and encouraging:) I’m really glad that I met her here! She’s quick at spotting what her students are struggling with and what they are better at— that’s extremely helpful. She provides awesome feedback too. Perfect! Mahtab is absolutely the best cello teacher we have ever seen. She guided the student much more detailed dynamic and emotion in a comparatively easy understandable way.
She encouraged my daughter to play music with enthusiastic emotion rather than hitting notes. My daughter is more confident and active to practise after the first lesson with Mahtab.Perfect! Mahtab has a natural ability to build trust and confidence in her students. She is patient, supportive, and creates a comfortable environment where students feel safe to learn and express themselves.
She’s the most patient tutor I have ever had. I knew her for a while and always went to her concerts but never did tutoring with her. But I recently have started she is insanely knowledgeable and explains everything with such patient that you look forward to your classes!!!
My daughter had such a great experience taking cello lessons with her we were truly worried about how she would like these lessons but not only is she a phenomenal musician, but also an incredible instructor who knows how to connect with kids and make learning fun and engaging. The kids absolutely love her classes, and you can really see the passion and dedication she brings to teaching. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and supportive cello teacher. Instructors and local musicians like her are very hard to find especially for kids. She’s a gem and my wife and are extremely happy with her.
