About Namita
I am pursuing my Master's degree in Political Science and hold a Bachelor's (Honors) in History and Political Science. Alongside my academic background, I am a TEFL educator, fiction author, and essayist active on Substack (twice shortlisted for the Rama Mehta Women's Writing Grant), and hold a distinction in Graded Examination in Communication Skills through Trinity College of London (Grade 7), and Digital Marketing Certification from IIM, Sirmaur.
With extensive experience in competitive debate, rhetoric, and writing, TEFL training, and operating at C1 CEFR level, I bring a combination of subject matter depth, language proficiency and ability to deliver to students of varying levels or proficiency. I help bridge gap between historical/political studies and comprehension and senior secondary and university level writing standards.
I work comfortably with students across international time zones (Gulf/UAE, UK, USA, Singapore) and learners looking for conceptual understanding and targeting top scores, enrolled in IB DP, AP, ICSE/CBSE board exam systems.

I teach History and Political Science not as lists of dates to memorize, but as interconnected, narrative stories that impact the world we inhabit. By breaking down complex geopolitical events into simpler easy to retain and grasp cause and effect timelines, students intuitively grasp the "why" and "how" behind historical shifts and political theories and move from cramming to understanding and synthesizing arguments.
Each lesson is structured around active engagement and concept mastery:
- Narrative Context & Timelines: During every class I help map historical context, geography, and political motivations visually and chronologically.
- Formative Checking & Drills: Trained as a TEFL tutor I employ techniques like Concept Checking Questions (CCQs), elicitation, assertion-reasoning drills, and targeted evaluation exercises to ensure deep retention and building a strong base.
- Independent Essay Writing: Borrowing from my background as an author and debater, I train students to construct high-scoring arguments. I focus on ensuring my students learn how to weave evidence, political theory, timeline references, and consequences into cohesive essay type answers without needing to cram several pre-written answers.
Classes are designed for:
- Secondary and Senior Secondary (IB DP History/Global Politics, AP European/World/US History, AP Comparative Government, IGCSE, and CBSE/ICSE board exams). International students and NRI timings are accepted and open to negotiation.
- Undergraduate students needing support with political theory, or ancient, medieval and modern world history.
Medium:
Online video conferencing via Google Meet or Zoom, demonstration on online white board, study material shared Google Docs or PDF.
