About Dayanara
I attended the Mathnasium learning center for a student in 2018 and 2019. Two years later, I was hired as a Mathnasium instructor and worked summers of 2021, 2022, and 2023. I have the perspective of a student who struggles to understand and an instructor with advanced mathematical knowledge that can provide tutoring services to others.
I must prioritize learning and understanding, of course. It does not matter if I need to explain a topic only once or more than 5 times. What is important is that it makes sense and that the student may be confident enough to leave the session and demonstrate their understanding in the according setting (i.e first day of classes, taking a test, etc.).

These lessons can be for anyone who is need of help understanding any math concept. A typical lesson plan would depend on the kind of help my student needs. For example, if they have homework they need help on then we would focus on that -- I may provide relevant math problems apart from the homework for extra practice during and in our next session. If the student wants to prepare for an upcoming course then I would practice problems together the first session and set up a learning plan with important topics from that course to review over multiple sessions. What sets me apart? I will always be there as an instructor. Any relevant questions are welcome. I will never judge your level of expertise in any math level. As a person who once did struggle with math, I get it -- not everyone can understand a topic after it is only explained once. While not everyone finds math simple, I will always do my best to make these sessions as enjoyable as possible!
