About Josh
I am a mathematics and statistics professor, and former software developer. I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages and skill levels for nearly 10 years and have developed a variety of methods for explaining many complex ideas. The most common feedback I receive from my students is that I am caring, accessible when they need me, and I will always help them find the answers to their questions.

I primarily teach courses ranging from development algebra, where we introduce the basics required throughout college algebra, to engineering-level calculus. My sessions often start with a short lecture to call out the big ideas we will be discussing, then moves into small group discussions and exercises, and ending the class with a summary of the day's events. When tutoring, I believe in listening to the individual student and allowing them to explain their understanding, then starting a larger discussion to fill in any gaps or review foundational ideas.
