About Abeera
I was born an eldest daughter, hence learned to lead and take responsibility. Teaching was in my genes, given that both my parents have taught most of their professional lives with great success.
I loved to teach since I was under 10 years old. It was my siblings who had to bear with me when I made them study just because I wanted to teach!
I moved to Ireland, did my Leaving Cert, and started tutoring right after as I went off to college. The rest was history. Every day I fell more and more in love with teaching and maths. I love the light in students' eyes when a concept finally makes sense to them, and the pride on their face when they work out an exam question independently.
I studied education along with maths for the first 2 years of my degree as I thought I would want to teach in a school. Once I did my work placement I realised that is not what I want. Teaching in a school setting felt highly unproductive. I couldn't provide on-to-one attention to students, I wasn't allowed enough time to spend on a particular topic. Everything was rushed with not enough practice opportunity being provided to students. In short, my freedom as a teacher was in jeopardy and the teaching felt meaningless. I needed to make an actual difference in the students' lives and so I decided to continue with private tutoring instead of teaching in a school.
Now I look forward to making students' lives a little easier and more fun through SuperProf!

I believe that maths makes sense when done right.
My teaching methodology for problem-solving involves diagnostic questions that let me know the thinking process behind a student's work. From there, I provide bite-sized nudges, guiding the student's thought process to develop their logical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
All of the above is done after I explain a new topic and give examples, and while working on problem questions.
My qualifications are BSc in Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics from Maynooth University. I have also worked in Educate Together during my work placement.
My maths lessons are for secondary level (Junior, leaving Cert) and college students. I have been teaching for 8+ years and have experience in dealing with a wide range of nationalities, cultures and academic abilities. At college level, I have taught students maths and physics from various degree backgrounds, including science, computer science, AI, pharmaceutical studies, Agricultural Science etc. Modules included Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics, and more.

I am graduating this year with a Bsc in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from DCU.
I had always been pretty weak in maths and in first year having to do calculus was a huge hurdle. Abeera tutored me and I would recommend her to anybody who is willing to learn anything maths or physics related.
Despite weak foundations in calculus, my grade significantly improved with every CA. I went from barely passing to a First Class Honours.
I recommended Abeera to three of my classmates and they all had similar experiences, even scored 100% on some of the CAs.
She is also super kind and patient with her students. So if you need any assistance with maths, Abeera is your best choice!I would not have scored what I did in my Leaving Cert and Bachelors without Abeera's tutoring. She taught me higher level maths during Leaving Cert and I got a H2!
She made maths make sense and did it so well that I ended up becoming independent in my study of maths. I did not need tutoring for maths during my Bachelors.
