About Pearl
Hi! I’m a Year 13 student in South Australia with approximately 1.5 years of tutoring experience at Kumon, and I currently privately tutor students in Year 5 and Year 9 mathematics.
Being a current student myself helps me understand how overwhelming a subject can feel when an explanation simply doesn’t click. I enjoy breaking concepts into smaller, easier steps and adapting my explanations until the student understands.
I’m patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable telling me when they don’t understand something rather than being afraid to ask questions.
Alongside mathematics, I can also provide support in biology and chemistry for students up to Year 11.

Through structured lessons for example:
I provide personalised maths tutoring for primary and high school students, with lessons adapted to each student’s current level, schoolwork and areas of difficulty.
I currently tutor students in Year 5 and Year 9 mathematics and also have approximately 1.5 years of previous tutoring experience at Kumon.
During lessons, I first make sure the student understands the concept rather than simply memorising a method. We then work through practice questions together before the student attempts questions independently. This helps me identify gaps in understanding and explain difficult concepts in a different way when needed.
I can help with:

* Revising difficult or missed concepts
* Test preparation
* Developing stronger problem-solving skills
* Strengthening foundational maths skills
I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while they learn.
