About Maggie
I have always loved to teach, and I have always been told that I'm a very effective teacher. I like to teach students by helping them understand the basic elements of a topic, and then guiding them to be able to apply these skills to higher level questions. I find it very effective to be able to have a conversation with a student about the topic beforehand, and help them understand the purpose and use so they have a base to build off.

I like to teach in a more relaxed, conversational style, to help students build confidence in answering higher level questions. I prefer to do lessons up to an hour because any longer and students start to lose focus and the time is less effective.
I started tutoring after my work experience in a primary school, helping KS1/2 students learn literacy and numeracy. I then started doing some lunchtime sessions when I was in sixth form and volunteering as a teaching assistant. I've been tutoring since I was 15, and I'm now a second year maths student at the University of York, so I can teach maths up to A-level, including Further Maths.
