PGCE in Maths from Leeds
13 years teaching combined at outstanding schools in Derby (including A - level), Manchester, Birmingham (national teaching school) and Liverpool.

I base my teaching around retrieval practice to ensure concepts are fitted into long term memory. So there will be alot of review and recap, higher order thinking questions with the aim to break the problem down and structural organisation.

If you are looking for someone to boost a child’s confidence & make maths fun. Mr Johal is the man.
Mr Johal (jag) worked with our son during lockdown & helped him tremendously & us as a family.
Our son is easily distracted & struggles with concentration combined with being a grumpy teenager. Mr Johal did not find this difficult & raised his confidence & self esteem from 0 to 100 in a matter of minutes.
We would hear the laughter from the study as Mr Johal would make him laugh & make the lessons fun. The time used to fly by.
We can’t thank him enough - at one point we didn’t think our son would gain any GCSE’s but now he really is on his journey.
