About Michele
I am a mature person who worked for 25 years in the hospitality industry. I have engaged with new Canadians and helped them during this time. I returned to school in my 50's and graduated with a Masters Degree. I understand that it is not easy to balance life and work and takes a bit of inner strength to develop new skills. There is however a need for newcomers to feel welcome and to develop their English skills, so that they can be successful and feel welcome wherever they travel.

About the lesson

All languages in which the lesson is available :
English
In order to negotiate the English language and develop as a reader a new student must be afforded the opportunity to read a variety of materials without judgement.
An evaluation of skill level would be a starting point.
This would take the form of a reading test with a comprehensive question selection to follow.
From this assessment it could be determined at what level the student is performing in terms of understanding meaning and being able to respond to questions.
These lessons would be appropriate for anyone new to the language and needing to develop a verbal dialogue and later written skills.
