About Zi Lin
Hi! My name is Zi Lin and I'm a Medicine student at the University of Sydney, having graduated from Macleans College in 2019 after obtaining 5 A* at A-level (equivalent to Excellence at Level 3). I've tutored for the past 5 years with 2000+ hrs of experience. I'm well versed with CIE & NCEA, having finished both A-levels and 6 NZQA scholarships through self-studying the NCEA syllabus. My experience studying in high school and even now in university allows me to really empathize with your perspective as a fellow learner. I can share with you my principles on how to best approach your particular subject. The subjects I offer include: Maths (Calc & Stats), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English Literature for CIE, NCEA, and International Baccalaureate (IB).

My tutoring style prioritizes interaction, comprehension, and appreciation of the topic over rote memorization and lecturing the student. I aim to teach rather than lecture. I'm always very happy to personalize our lesson structure on what suits you best. But here's what a typical lesson looks like: I review any homework while the student goes through a prepared quiz or reading material. Each lesson is structured around the certain learning outcomes which will be derived from the relevant syllabus. We will spend around 20-30 mins reinforcing concepts and walking through questions together. Then I will let you try out some questions to see if you've grasped the idea and can handle some homework on your own. Finally, when possible I will provide helpful notes at the end for revision as well.
