About Amar
Currently in my fourth year of medical school at Queen Mary University of London, I have had experience teaching various subjects at several different levels and age groups. I am a firm believer that everybody is able to achieve excellence with due diligence and patience from both their teacher and from themselves. Approaching learning from a curious and interesting point of view is key to maintaining motivation for any subject, and in achieving goals which feel much more real.
During a year out of education 4 years ago I spent several months teaching GCSE and A level students maths and science subjects, both on a 1-1 basis as well as assisting teaching in an extracurricular physics class; several students had grades brought up from Bs to A*s.
During medical school I have had the opportunity to provide peer lectures to more junior students on more challenging topics, giving me a perspective on teaching in a slightly more challenging format in front of a lecture theatre.
Additionally, I have had lots of experience teaching sports and physical activity to children: having volunteered as an assistant coach at my local table tennis club for 3-4 years, and currently involved in teaching at my karate school after being awarded a black belt for the past 3 years.
Having had teaching experience in various contexts and with many different types of personalities, I am confident that I will be able to encourage you or your child to bring out the best of your ability in the subject you would like my help in.
