About James
I returned to formal education in 2016, gaining my BA and then my Cambridge certification to teach English as a foreign language.
I taught at the City of Bristol College, and schools in Mexico and the UK. I have been teaching online one-to-one classes since.
My teaching style is informal, I like to get to know my students and help with the specific parts of English that they want to improve. I have lots of experience working with Intermediate and advanced students. I tailor our lessons to suit your requirements and ability levels. We can decide together on a more tailored route to achieve your learning goals.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Bristol and also have a CELTA TEFL certification. I have been teaching English since 2019.
My teaching style is friendly and relaxed. I focus on conversational English and work together with my students to improve their speaking skills. During our sessions, I introduce new vocabulary and help students understand its meaning, correct usage, and pronunciation.
I offer three different ways for students to progress:
1. Conversational English - We can practice speaking and I will provide feedback to help improve your English as we talk.
2. Reading articles - We can read articles together and use new vocabulary to answer questions and discuss the content.
3. Formal lessons - We can cover more structured topics of your choice or I can create a personalized curriculum for you.
I teach students of all levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
