About Sheryl

Hi, I’m Sheryl, an online English tutor based in Malaysia with experience supporting students across different age groups and learning abilities.

I specialize in helping students improve their English in a clear and structured way, focusing on reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and overall communication skills. My lessons are designed to build confidence step by step, especially for students who may feel unsure or behind in English.

I have experience working with primary school students as well as learners who require additional support, including those with special learning needs. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

My sessions are calm, supportive, and interactive, creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

I also support teenagers and adults who want to improve their everyday English, whether for work, study, or personal confidence.

My goal is simple: to help every student feel more confident and capable in using English in real-life situations.

About the lesson

I take a personalized and supportive approach to teaching English, focusing on building confidence, clarity, and long-term understanding rather than rote memorization. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, learning style, and goals, whether that is improving reading, writing, grammar, or spoken English.

My teaching methodology is structured yet flexible. I break down concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps and use guided practice, real-life examples, and interactive questioning to ensure students fully grasp each topic. For younger learners, I incorporate engaging activities to keep lessons fun and focused, while for older students and adults, I focus on practical communication, academic writing, and fluency improvement.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and attention span.

I have experience as an online tutor working with a wide range of students, including those with additional learning needs. I currently support primary-aged students across English learning areas such as phonics, comprehension, grammar, spelling, and writing skills.

My lessons are designed for:
