About Louis
At heart I am a mathematician. I have developed a strong problem solving mind with great attention to detail. It has taken some time to transfer this capability to writing software, and I wish to share that journey with others.
We problem solve all the time. Rewriting those thought processes into code is like learning a new language, complete with grammar, dialects and phrases.
I have mentored 2 junior Software Engineers in my team, with focus on best practices for coding.
I have worked as a Lead Developer on a greenfield project, leading a team of 4 to enable non-technical users to safely administer business critical databases in bulk by using templated API requests.

I will build confidence and knowledge to enable students to apply their own problem solving skills.
I place great importance on code hygiene - writing reusable, testable and structured code.
I have tutored Primary School Maths but this is my first venture into tutoring Software. As such, I am focussing on tutoring beginners, ages 12+. Typical lesson length is 30 minutes.
