About Akil
I started training in Muay Thai in 1995 after training traditional martial arts from the age of 5. With over 30 years of Muay Thai experience and 35+ years of Martial Arts experience, Martial arts is in my blood and I have been training practically my whole life. I have competed in amateur and professional bouts since I was a teenager. I have a vast amount of experience training with different trainers both in England and in Thailand and can offer a blend of traditional and modern styles suited for the current age. I pride myself in getting the best out of my students and tailoring the training to their strength and needs. Whether you are looking learn from scratch as a newbie or have previous experience I can work with you. If you're advanced and you want to work on specific parts of your game I am able to help with this also. I also offer fight preparation training and strategies. I aim to improve your self-confidence and mental game as well as your physical skills as they go hand in hand.

I have a very tailored and unique style of teaching my students. I understand everyone has different strengths and attributes and focus a bespoke style based on your traits. Muay Thai is known as the Art of Eight Limbs and you will be taught to use your whole body as a weapon and as a shield. Muay Thai fundamentals are of course paramount and this foundation must be built and cast in stone first. Physical skills are of course important but I will also develop your mental game and improve your confidence under stress. Lessons are 60 minutes in length and are on a 1to1 basis. I have over 30 years experience in Muay Thai. I also have many years experience in Boxing, K1 and Kickboxing. I have been teaching classes with over 30 students and private 1 to 1 training sessions for more than 15 years. My lessons are for 12+ years and all levels from beginners to advanced and fighters.

Perfect! Akil is a highly skilled and excellent instructor. He was very inviting and made me feel very comfortable as a new student. He made sure to ask me what my goals were and to assess my skill level and then structured the training around them. Akil’s attention detail is what impressed me the most and made sure I was doing everything correctly. When explaining a specific move he would expertly break it down and explain it in a way that was easy to understand. I am going to be booking a session for my teenage son as I think he will benefit from Akil’s style of teaching (very disciplined).
