About Delphine
Hello! I am Delphine, a French native speaker. I qualified with a degree in Mandarin from the University of Aix-en-Provence in France, followed by a Master in teaching French as a Foreign Language (2:1) and a PGCE in England where I have lived since 1999. I am currently Assistant Curriculum Leader of Languages in a secondary school in Oxford where I prepare KS3 students as well as those doing their French GCSE and A level with AQA. I also have had many home educated children in my lessons and iGCSE French students in recent years. Whether for your child or for yourself, fun fun or with a specific aim in my mind, I can help you achieve your goal!

After being in teaching for over 25 years in the UK mainly but also in China, I can adapt my lessons to a wide range of needs, whether you are beginning with French or at a very advanced level, for fun, travelling or exam prep. I like my lessons to be fun, to the point and good value. Lessons can last 30 minutes to 1 hour. I am happy to teach children with special educational needs as well as this has been something dear to my heart for a long time and for which I am especially keen to help. Equally some of my students have recently just got A's for their A level so I am happy to teach all levels!

Delphine was my tutor for both my French iGCSE and my first year of French A-Level, in both of which I succeeded in achieving an A grade in no small part thanks to her dedication and incredible teaching. Despite my originally coming to the subject with little enthusiasm, her lessons not only made real sense of French grammar and linguistics but encouraged a deep understanding of French culture and arts, which is now one of my greatest passions and something which I hope to make a part of my future career. She really makes the effort to get to know her students and to tailor her lessons not only to their personal learning style but also to their individual interests, and is genuinely a lovely teacher to work with.
