About Yash
Hi, I’m Yash — a Chemistry graduate from the University of Oxford with a strong passion for both science and teaching.
I’ve always enjoyed explaining ideas and helping others understand topics they find challenging, especially in maths and science. Over time, this naturally led me into tutoring, where I found it really rewarding to see students grow in confidence and start achieving results they didn’t think were possible.
Having achieved A* grades in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry myself, I understand what it takes to succeed in exams and how to approach difficult content effectively. Alongside this, my experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students, as well as teaching undergraduates as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, has helped me develop a clear and approachable teaching style.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students improve and reach their potential. For me, it’s not just about grades — it’s about building confidence, understanding, and a more positive attitude towards learning.

I take a structured, student-centred approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to suit the individual needs and goals of my students. I focus on building both strong understanding and confidence, using clear explanations, guided practice, and regular feedback.
With a background in Chemistry at the University of Oxford, I specialise in breaking down complex scientific concepts into simple, intuitive steps. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, while also helping students develop strong exam technique through past paper practice and effective problem-solving strategies.
Lessons typically last around 60 minutes and are carefully structured to include review, focused teaching, and consolidation.
I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students in maths and science, helping many achieve top grades (8/9 at GCSE and A/A* at A-level). I have also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Leicester, teaching undergraduate students and delivering workshops in physical and organic chemistry.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-level students in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics, whether they need extra support or are aiming for the highest grades.

Yash was an amazing tutor throughout my Chemistry and Mathematics GCSE time! When I started tutoring, I was achieving 5s and 6s, and with his support and guidance I managed to achieve a 9 in both subjects!
A notable memory is when I felt very disheartened after not being able to understand a concept in Chemistry. I was ready to give up and just accept that I couldn't understand it.
