About Ashley
I'm an Oxford University graduate with a First Class degree in History. I'm also a Teach First History teacher working in West London. Prior to my teaching career I spent 20 years as a documentary director and producer making history and arts films and working with some of the most famous people on the planet - King Charles III, Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Francis and many others. I'm passionate about History and would love to help you realise your dreams.

A Teach First trained teacher, I specialise in GCSE and A level History. My classes meticulously map the History curriculum. I focus on specific topic areas and also help with essay writing - including A level extended essays. I help students understand the wider historical context but also zoom in on the detail which will make students stand out from the crowd. Lessons are focused, fast-moving, and practical - we tackle extracts and essay questions so students are confident as they approach exam time. I've guided students in the run up to, and during, exams, with empathetic and empowering tutoring.

Ashley is highly intelligent and passionate about his subject. He is also a warm empathetic person who communicates wonderfully with young people. He has a fascinating background in television history documentaries which gives another layer to his experience. He is organised, consistent and inventive and I recommend him wholeheartedly.
