About Ann-Marie
I studied Music at the University of Oxford and graduated with a 2i in 2014. My time spent studying there and working towards exams really helped me to hone many skills, including my use and understanding of the written word. I have a total of 6 A Levels, some of which were sat early, and I therefore also have experience of the pressure that comes with sitting early exams. I am very passionate about helping people who want to be helped, and I believe that you get more out of tutoring sessions when you're willing to put the work in too. Literature has always been a huge passion of mine, andI excelled in English Language and Literature at A Level. I write my own poetry and am currently in the process of editing the first draft of my own novel - I truly love writing and literary analysis, and I hope that my enthusiasm for the subject can continue to help others find their own!

I am a very friendly and easy-going tutor who is passionate about tailoring my services to each person. Sometimes, we all need a little one-on-one time with someone to really hone in on what is required of us and to feel like we can ask questions without feeling the pressure of other people watching or judging.
My typical lessons are an hour long, and this really enables us to get our teeth into a particular poem or text and focus for a good length of time without becoming too long and straining the brain too much! I tutored various subjects before the pandemic hit (and continued to do so online for a short time after) for around 4 years, and my pupils achieved some really excellent results. I primarily teach GCSE level English Literature.
