About Cerise
Prior to Oxford, I have worked for companies such as L'Oreal (U.K.) and Shiseido (Japan), building on my understanding of business and marketing. I am deeply passionate about Japanese translation and cultural research.
I am not your typical researcher. I am also not your typical tutor. I am someone who can find an edge, an angle, that perhaps would usually go unnoticed and might well make all the difference. I am someone who looks at students as individuals and seeks to highlight their own unique qualities as well.

With experience working as a tutor in the U.K. and Japan, I have learned that the key to any class is clear goals and assessment. In the case of language learning, I will initially want to have a detailed conversation about the student's aspirations and will set clear targets and tests to meet that goal. For other tutoring such as essay writing a lot of time is allocated to creating a thorough plan and outline.
