About Gizelle
Over the past five years, I have had the opportunity to teach formally at a University as well as tutor privately. While working on my Master’s degree, I taught a Biology activity course consisting of three classes, each with approximately 25 students for over two years and received great reviews during this time. Additionally, for over four years, I have tutored various high school science classes such as Biology (AP and regular), Chemistry, and Physics as well as math classes up to and including Pre-Calculus. I have also tutored college level courses including Biology, Chemistry, and Advanced Genetics. All of my students see an improvement of at least 2 letter grades in their assignments/tests after just a few sessions because my teaching methods tailor to each students’ needs, and I am quick to pick up on where they disconnect with their subject(s). In addition, there is a marked increase in my students’ self-confidence and motivation when they realize that they are capable of doing well. These positive results are the reasons why I enjoy tutoring and continue my efforts in helping students achieve their highest academic potential.

I’m a professional tutor and work with students who are at the high school and college level. Tutoring has given me the opportunity to meet a wide range of students, each with their unique needs, challenges, and expectations. The variety of students I have worked with, includes young adults with cognitive challenges, individuals seeking someone to help them with homework and assignments at the high school and college level, and even gifted individuals attending the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech). My primary goal is to help my students understand material they once found challenging, and ultimately help them translate that new-found understanding into improved grades by various mean, including: repetition of the material, a pneumonic, or even extra homework and problems for additional practice.
