About Harriet
I have worked as a solo percussionist for a few years, winning the Canterbury Young Musician in 2017 and working with orchestras and as a featured soloist in concerts. I studied Orchestral Percussion at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire, performing in orchestras and other smaller ensembles, and gained a Distinction in my Grade 8 exam. I led a percussion club during my time in Sixth Form, teaching students the basics of drumming, and also led a percussion workshop at a primary school. I have since graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in music, and have taught multiple students both online and in person.

I am extremely understanding, patient and work to the abilities of the student. Teaching tuned percussion, (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel etc.) I aim to teach strong playing techniques that allow you to excel in performance and give good groundings for further playing, such as four-mallet playing. I would teach through either exam syllabuses, or other pieces. I can teach from beginner to higher grades. I am also experienced in teaching drum kit grades across syllabuses.
