- Do you have a personal message for students?
Philosophy is one of the toughest subjects on offer, so it carries great rewards and high risks. Even for the most able students, having an experienced tutor is the surest way to success. One-to-one teaching means I'll always start from what you already understand, even if you think you're completely lost. From there, we'll move quickly up to the syllabus requirements and, if you feel like it, far beyond them.

...I certainly benefited hugely from Peter's lessons, scoring a remarkable 200/200 in my AS level Philosophy which is a credit to Peter! This is such an amazing result and I am very grateful to Peter for the work he has done with me.”
“I have had the benefit of working with Peter for a year. As a teacher of Philosophy at University, Peter brings an exceptional amount of knowledge beyond what is taught in the classroom which is not only interesting and engaging, but also crucial to demonstrating knowledge beyond the mark scheme which helps to attain the highest grade...
...Finally, I found that Peter's teaching was most effective because I felt comfortable talking to him; at no point did I feel self-conscious about asking him anything, and I feel this is quintessential to a successful tutoring relationship.
...At every point Peter tried to allow me to reach the conclusions of questions with only his guidance, which was far more helpful for me than him simply telling me the answer. Peter's vast range of knowledge meant that discussion could flow easily between different subjects, allowing me to build deeper pictures within my mind of the historical context of different theories or philosophers...
Peter's style of teaching guided me through the chosen topics, breaking down each section so we could discuss any aspect of the syllabus I had been struggling with in a clear and comfortable way...
