About Dr Katarina
Unlike many tutors who start their serious music education at university, my professional journey began in early childhood. I hold Dual Diplomas from a Specialized Music High School in both Piano Performance and Music Theory, which means I underwent immersive, daily conservatory-level training in performance, solfeggio, music theory and harmony from a young age. This extraordinary foundation is backed by Dual Master’s Degrees—one in Ethnomusicology (an academic, research-based discipline) and one in Music Composition (an artistic discipline). Culminating my academic journey, I earned a PhD in Music Composition. This rare combination of deep scientific knowledge, high-level piano performance, and compositional insight allows me to offer an unmatched level of comprehensive mentorship.

With a PhD in Composition and extensive experience as a professional composer, I offer personalized lessons in composition, songwriting, and music theory. My experience ranges from solo works and small ensembles to large chamber ensembles and orchestral compositions. I also work extensively in popular music and songwriting, as well as composing original music for children. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, interests, and creative goals.
