I do not believe in passive "spoon-feeding." My teaching philosophy is rooted in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Active Recall, the pedagogical gold standards used by the UK’s top medical schools. My goal is to transition you from a student who memorises facts to a clinician who applies "First Principles" thinking.
1. The Teaching Framework
For Medical Students (The 'Junior Doctor' Model): We move beyond textbook theory. I use clinical vignettes (e.g., "The Breathless Patient") to integrate Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology. This mirrors the cognitive process required for USMLE, PLAB, and Final Year Exams. For admissions (UCAT/BMAT), I utilise "Mock MMI Circuits" to simulate high-pressure interview conditions.
For Language Learners (The 'Bilingual Clinician' Model): Leveraging my native fluency, we focus on Scenario Simulation. We role-play specific clinical encounters—such as History Taking, Breaking Bad News, or obtaining Consent—in Medical Mandarin or Cantonese. We focus heavily on tone and register to ensure you are culturally competent and patient-safe.
2. Lesson Formats & Lengths I offer a tiered structure designed to respect your time and maximise efficiency:
The Strategy Consultation (30 Mins): A mandatory diagnostic session. We audit your current knowledge to identify "blind spots"—the unknown unknowns that cost marks—and map out a bespoke roadmap.
The Deep Dive Session (60 Mins): My standard teaching unit. We tackle a specific high-yield topic (e.g., "Cardiovascular Physiology" or "Medical Mandarin Basics") using active recall and diagrams to scaffold complex mechanisms.
The Intensive Workshop (90 - 120 Mins): Rigorous simulation sessions designed for high-stakes preparation.
