About Elisa

I retired early from the university to travel the world by motorcycle. After 10 years of travel and while staying for a couple of months in Kino Bay, Mexico, I offered to teach Spanish to a group of expats. We all had a great time and I realized again how much I love teaching. I have been teaching online for 4 years. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you online.

About the lesson

I tutor all levels of Spanish, for university and high school students, for professionals dealing with Spanish speakers clients or patients, for diplomats, NGOs, travelers, professionals planning to retire in a Spanish speaking country, or for whoever wants to learn the language just for fun.

I have taught Spanish Language and Literature for 20 years at US universities, from Spanish 101 to Special Topics at the graduate level. I am a native speaker from Spain with a PhD in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Syracuse University, NY. I know the language and I know how to teach it efficiently.

Elisa's response
Susan understands a lot when she is in a conversation in Spanish. This is a great asset. Her challenge now is to produce language in Spanish, to contribute to that conversation in Spanish. We are working on that!

Elisa and I met when she was a tenured professor (PhD) in the Modern Language department of Northern Arizona University. We dated and married. Elisa is loyal, conscientious, very bright and an adventurer . We have ridden our motorcycles through 8 South American countries, the USA coast to coast, Europe and into Asia.
On the road, Elisa taught Spanish to hundreds of students over on-line platforms and was consistently rated excellent.
Elisa is capable of teaching Spanish and Spanish literature at all levels. Her students are High school teens , post graduate students and corporate executives. As a US Peace Corps volunteer, I learned Spanish in Costa Rica and have done graduate work in linguistics. I recommend Elisa to Superprof members because she is a native speaker of Spanish, her excellent educational background and because she has successfully taught Spanish to thousands of students in the classroom and on-line.
