About Dean
I am currently a PhD student working in the field of biomedical science. This role is entirely research based and means I have the opportunity to discover things no one else in the world has discovered. It is a very exciting career! A big part of why I have taken up mentoring is to try and inspire students to consider a career in science, and take off the pressure and fear of exams so they can really enjoy the subject.

The teaching technique implemented over the tutoring duration will be highly tailored depending on the tutee. Typical lessons would be described as so: lessons will first take a behaviourist pedagogical approach, primarily formed by lecture based learning, to ensure the content of the syllabus is familiar. This would then move to a constructivist approach, implementing discussion based teaching to promote deeper learning. Lessons will be an hour minimum and can be tailored to whichever qualification you are aiming for (GCSE, A level, or undergraduate).
As experience goes, I have been a part of the physics mentoring programme, mentoring students at both GCSE and A level. I am also an associate tutor at Cardiff metropolitan university, having a role in teaching, demonstrating and supervision of final year research projects. I am also responsible for marking exam papers at both undergraduate and masters degree level.
