About Joylene
About me I'm a practical nurse with hands-on experience across Emergency, Cardiac Surgery, Primary Care, and Community Nursing — and a former college peer tutor of 2+ years. I work with students who want to actually understand the material, not just memorize it before an exam.
Who I help:
Nursing students (LPN, BScN, bridging programs)
Personal Support Workers (PSW)
Pre-nursing and health science students
Anyone taking these courses for the first time or struggling to keep up My mantra: "No two students are alike."
Whether this is your first exposure to the human body or you're a nursing student drowning in pharmacology, I meet you where you are. No judgment, no rushed explanations, no assumed knowledge. I'm also currently in a BScN bridge program myself, so I get it — I'm walking the same path you are.

About the lesson Nursing and health science concepts are intimidating until someone connects them to real life. That's my method — I use bedside examples and everyday analogies to make the dense stuff click. A typical session starts with what you need:
Stuck on an upcoming exam?
A concept that just won't sink in?
Falling behind and not sure how to catch up?
Brand new to biology and feeling lost?
We work it through together until you can explain it back to me in your own words. That's the real test: if you can teach it, you know it. The free first session is 30 minutes — enough time for us to figure out your goals, what you're stuck on, and whether we're a good fit before you commit.
