About Jennifer

I’m a qualified Drama Teacher/Acting coach and educational professional with extensive experience in Performing Arts instruction. My skillset includes production, direction, singing, coaching, mime, improv and both comedy and drama performance training. I’m known for my creative, energetic, and friendly personality, and I bring a lively, professional spirit to every session.
With a BA (Hons) in Drama and an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service), I work regularly at a London drama school and privately with students of all ages. I’m particularly skilled at identifying each performer’s strengths and growth areas, and I tailor lesson plans to encourage individual progress, confidence, and creativity. My teaching approach is adaptable and engaging, whether I’m working with children, teens, or adults.
I fell in love with performing as a child, and I’ve been training ever since. Now, as a professional actor with recent screen work on Netflix and BBC One, I continue to balance my acting career with my passion for teaching. Helping others achieve their creative goals is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. I’m patient, supportive, and fun, and I always aim to make lessons dynamic and never repetitive. Whether we’re working on scene repetition, character development, or building confidence, I create a safe, structured space where performers can take risks, explore, and grow.
Teaching base: London Bridge SE1 1 (in-person) or online.

**Lessons built around you**

Our first session gives us time to explore your experience, interests and goals through conversation and practical exercises. You might be preparing for an audition, developing a character, applying to drama school or simply wanting to feel more confident expressing yourself. We’ll build your training around what matters to you.

**Acting technique, confidence and creative freedom**

My sessions combine clear technique with room to experiment. We work with improvisation, movement, voice, breath, character exercises and script analysis to help you make specific choices, listen closely and respond naturally.

I draw on approaches including Stanislavski, Uta, Meisner, Laban, Chubbuck etc choosing exercises that suit how you learn. You’ll develop an understanding of your character’s circumstances, relationships and intentions, and learn how to turn that understanding into a living performance.

**Audition preparation and acting for camera**

We can work on scene auditions, monologues, theatre roles and screen performances, from your first reading through to your final take. Sessions can include:

- Script analysis and character development.
- Memorisation and working confidently with text.
- Emotional connection and a clear journey through the scene.
- Listening, timing and responding to direction.
- Adapting your performance for stage or camera.

My aim is for you to leave with a stronger performance and a process you can use independently.

**Self-tape coaching and recording**

At my studio, I offer a professional recording setup with lighting, camera, background and sound. We can prepare your scene together, explore different choices and record with live feedback and redirection.

Your selected audition take will be edited and emailed to you. Files are deleted after three days, so please download and save them promptly.

**Young performers**

For children and teenagers, I use imaginative games and age-appropriate exercises to develop concentration, clear speech, confidence and stage presence. I support preparation for:

- LAMDA exams and school productions.
- Film, television and theatre auditions.
- Drama school and drama scholarship applications.
- School interviews and public speaking.

Lessons can provide focused preparation for a particular goal or a creative space to learn and enjoy performing, with homework adapted to the student’s needs and schedule.

**Comedy, improvisation and public speaking**

My work in stand-up and performance also informs my coaching in comic timing, stage presence and delivery. For public speaking, we work on vocal variety, clarity, conversation skills, charisma and connecting with an audience, whether you’re preparing for a presentation, an interview or everyday professional conversations.

**Creative projects and career support**

If you want to develop an original scene, a short performance or showreel material, I can support you with dialogue, structure, blocking and performance choices. I also offer practical guidance on audition preparation, headshots, acting CVs, showreels and navigating the industry, drawing on my own experience as a working actress.

**Clear feedback and steady progress**

You’ll receive specific feedback throughout each session, with manageable exercises to practise between lessons where useful. Every ten sessions, we review your progress and adjust your goals together.

Above all, I want you to feel comfortable taking creative risks, proud of your progress and increasingly confident in your own voice as a performer.

Find out more about Jennifer

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I started acting at around ten years old in a school play, where I played three different characters. I loved the quick changes and the challenge of becoming someone different each time! I grew up in Murcia, Spain, surrounded by music, singing and dancing, so performing felt like a natural way to express myself.

That interest developed into a career. I moved to the UK and completed a BA (Hons) in Drama at the University of Wolverhampton and I started teaching acting in schools and privately just after that in 2019. Today, I work professionally across television, film and theatre in both English and Spanish, alongside teaching. Teaching allows me to share what I continue to learn as a working actress and help other people discover their own abilities.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

I love Shakespeare, particularly the richness of his characters and the way comedy and emotional depth can exist together. Playing Viola in Twelfth Night gave me the opportunity to explore identity, vulnerability and comic timing within the same character.

Musical theatre is another strong influence, including works such as Les Misérables, Chicago and Beauty and the Beast. I love how acting, music and movement combine to tell a story.

I am especially drawn to comedy and drama that reveal something recognisable about everyday life. Stories about belonging, relationships and social inequality matter to me. In both my acting and teaching, I’m interested in understanding why someone behaves as they do and finding the truth underneath their words.
  • What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

Curiosity, discipline, imagination and the ability to listen are essential. You need to be interested in people, willing to take creative risks and open to feedback. Resilience also matters: an audition result does not define your ability, and progress takes consistent practice.

The practical foundations include voice, articulation, movement, script analysis and understanding a character’s circumstances, objectives and relationships. Screen acting also requires an awareness of the camera and the ability to prepare an effective self-tape.

I encourage students to explore different techniques and discover what helps them personally. The goal is to build skills they can use independently, so they can make clear choices and respond naturally in the moment.
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Make your goal specific and break it into manageable steps. “Become a better actor” can feel overwhelming; “learn this scene accurately and explore what my character wants” gives you something concrete to work on today.

Consistency is more useful than waiting to feel inspired. Short, focused practice sessions can make a real difference. Reading aloud, recording yourself and reviewing your work helps you notice progress and identify what needs attention.

Give yourself permission to experiment before judging the result. Trying to make everything perfect immediately can stop you from discovering something interesting. Remember why the project matters to you, and focus on the next action you can take.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

Acting makes me feel alive, curious and connected. I love exploring someone else’s perspective and finding the mixture of strength, humour and vulnerability that makes a character human. Comedy is particularly exciting to me because it can bring people together while saying something meaningful.

Teaching gives me a different kind of fulfilment. I enjoy finding the explanation or exercise that makes something click for a student. Seeing someone understand a scene, make a confident choice or discover that their imagination is a strength is incredibly rewarding.

For me, this work brings together expression, growth and human connection.
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I’m proud of building a professional acting career across two languages and working on productions including The Sandman, Casualty and Doctors. Each experience has helped me develop my craft and understand how different professional environments work.

I’m also proud of my independent film work, including producing and performing as the lead in a short film involving a team of 27 collaborators. Taking responsibility for a project as both a performer and producer gave me a deeper appreciation of the teamwork behind a finished film.

Teaching is another achievement that means a great deal to me. I work with children and adults on acting, auditions, self-tapes, comedy and public speaking. I value being able to use my experience to help people pursue creative ambitions and feel more confident expressing themselves.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Absolutely! One student came to me with a background in singing but no previous acting experience, and 3 weeks to prepare for their audition. They went on to secure a place at AMDA in Los Angeles. Another student had never sung before, but after just a few sessions, gained a place on a course that required singing. A third student received offers from Mountview and five other schools, giving her the freedom to choose the one she loved most.

What makes these moments so rewarding is seeing students discover abilities they hadn’t yet recognised in themselves. Their commitment and willingness to learn can lead to remarkable progress, even in a short space of time.

I enjoy recognising those strengths and building on them. Sometimes a small adjustment, slowing down, giving a thought time to land or making the circumstances more specific, can change a performance considerably.
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret is paying close attention to the person in front of me. Students arrive with different goals, levels of experience and ways of learning, so I adapt my teaching to what will help each individual progress.

I combine clear explanations with practical exercises, games, improvisation and scene work. I want students to understand why we are doing an exercise and how they can apply it to an audition, performance or everyday conversation.

My approach is warm, encouraging and honest. I give specific feedback, recognise strengths and set achievable next steps. As a working actress, I also bring practical experience from auditions, rehearsals and sets into our lessons.

Above all, I want students to leave with a clearer understanding of their craft, greater confidence in their own choices and something useful to practise before we meet again.
