About Sophia

I have over ten years of experience as a tutor and homeschool teacher. From teaching young ones to read to developing critical thinking and comprehension skills in teenagers. My background in linguistics is distinguishable and thus allows me the skill to communicate with children at a level that produces the greatest comprehensive outcome. I have experience with children that have ADHD, sensory, auditory, vision, and coordination processing conditions. I have a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and have successfully completed such courses in speech arts of children, and children's communications.

About the lesson

I am a compassionate and patient teacher who works with students from Pre-K to high school seniors. I specialize in language arts but teach all subjects Pre-K to 6th, and English Pre-K to 12th. I have a creative approach when it comes to teaching and enjoy creating a space for exploratory thinking.

I referred Sophia to my older cousin so that she could tutor my younger cousin in math and English during this pandemic. Sophia has been such amazing help and has been so patient with my little cousin in everything that she needed to keep on track with school work during these times. I would highly recommend for your child’s learning needs

There are only some people in this world that naturally have the gift to impart knowledge and skillset in a way that it can be actively received by the young and growing mind. Sophia Walters is one of these people. I have known her for over seven years and I have witnessed the children she has worked with grow immensely in both academics and interpersonal skills. Through highly interactive, creative, and challenging lesson plans she has proven successful at accelerating the growth of her students. Children who could not read are reading within the first month with her guidance. Sophia’s diverse experience also makes her equipped to work with students from all backgrounds. Furthermore, her impact stretches far beyond the classroom and into life. And that is something you will not get from other teaching professionals. Sophia is not only arming the next generation with all the knowledge they will need, but she is nurturing them each into the individual human beings that someday will enhance the world in the future.
